It is reportedly better than the Nikkor 14-24 I own and I would say that this is definitely the case. The distortion is very well controlled and this is tack sharp wide open. I must say this is the finest super wide angle lens I've used on a full frame 35mm camera. I'm very impressed by it. Definitely better than the Tamron 14mm at the edges and can we say no, absolutely no CA? The Canon 14mm F/2.8 is definitely in a run for it's money. I do not see a lot of things that makes this lens any worse than the Canon one other than the fact that it's autofocusing and auto diaphragm, but really, shooting wide angles, is all about composing carefully so that $2000 premium goes away very fast.
